THANKS for stopping back by today!
I think I managed to count right this week...sorry for the extra sentence last Sunday.
So Jack has managed to screw things up yet again...
Jack watched his now ex-fiancé screech out onto the quiet street, sipped his bourbon and relished its slow lubrication of the horror at what had just happened.
He sank back into the chair and glared at the fucked up still life on the table.
“Happiness thwarted” he could call it, or even better, “In Which Jack is a Dumb Ass.” The purple foil packets stacked next to the nearly twenty-thousand-dollar hunk of metal and compressed coal he’d put so much faith in just a few months ago.
“God damn it.”
He swept the whole mess onto the floor.
Be sure and stop by the Six Sunday site for more GREAT snippets!
cheers
Liz

February 19, 2012 at 9:41 AM
Jack brings a lot of it on himself, but he truly does love her...
February 19, 2012 at 9:54 AM
Doesn't it make you want to know what happened before that?? You have to read Sweat Equity to find out!
Jack is a tortured soul - my favorite kind of "Liz Crowe Creature."

You are such a tease, I want to know why he did that and what's going to happen next. Excellent six.
February 19, 2012 at 11:01 AM
I guess his redeeming quality is he can admit he messed up!
February 19, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Oh, Jack has many redeeming qualities...that's part of the problem actually ;-)

Wow, that's a lot of money for a ring. The real estate business must be good -- this must take place before the big slump. LOL

I'll be back to see more - sounds like he has to start all over, again

Jack is an attorney, owns a building company and can sell ice to eskimos. Downturn, shmownturn.
I had my best year ever 2008. it's all in the skills.

There's so much to like in these six -- the lubricated horror, the titles of the still life, the hunk of metal and coal. Terrific six!

I echo Monica, fantastic!
